About the Role

As a Sales Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in generating new business, nurturing customer relationships, and contributing to our sales targets. You will have the opportunity to disrupt industry norms, from experienced sales professionals and develop your skills in sales strategies, customer communication, and market analysis.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with company goals and drive revenue growth in target markets.

  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets, expanding the company’s market share and customer base.

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of sales representatives, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team sales targets.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

  • Sales Pipeline Management: Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring an efficient and effective pipeline.

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to stay informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s product offerings, staying updated on new developments and effectively communicating product value propositions to clients.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Track and report on sales performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer satisfaction.

  • Budget Management: Manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies and maximizing return on investment (ROI)

  • Account Management: Make sure existing customers are happy with our services and products. 


Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth

  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools

  • Deep understanding of the building materials industry and market dynamics

  • Relevant sales or management certifications are a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts.


Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a sales development role creating new outbound sales opportunities in the physical goods space. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
